Within the framework of Egypt’s concern to support African countries in all fields specially the scientific one, the Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357 organized its third international conference for pediatric neurosurgeries, under the slogan “Africa facing the future”. The conference that is considered the largest in the Middle East in terms of attendees, number of research studies and speakers, is also the 1rst annual conference of African Pediatric Neuro Oncology Society (APNOS)

The conference will take place on February 20th till 22nd of 2020 in the Hospital’s auditorium is headed by Dr. Mohamed Albeltagy, leader of 57357’s neurosurgery department where Dr. Sherif Abouel Naga, the Hospital General Manager is the conference’s honorary president.

Dr. Albeltagy, head of the conference and founder of APNOS, revealed that the event which joins together a stellar group of pediatric neuro oncology experts and surgeons from North America, Europe, Asia, Canada, and Africa is a milestone in bridging the gap between developed nations and developing ones and in the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the field. A large number of healthcare professionals from African countries are invited and will have the opportunity to attend workshops and training on latest techniques in neurosurgery including brain endoscopy and the use of sonar combined with the latest navigation system, the intra-operative MRI, where the Hospital is one of the first in the Middle East to acquire this equipment.

The conference is presenting the latest research studies and technologies in the field as well as rare pediatric cancers cases that the Hospital treats as the hospital is exposed to a big number of patients in comparison to other hospitals around the world.

The event is held in cooperation with APNOS, the Egyptian Society of Neurological Surgeons ESNS, the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies WFNS and the neurosurgery department of Alkasr Al Aini Hospital.
