I am impressed to see such a center in an Egyptian Hospital

Imminent cooperation with 57357 to support the art therapy activities

The opera artist and worldwide orchestra leader Nader Abbassi inaugurated Hospital 57357’s recreation center (the art workshop), and along with Cairo orchestra members spent some time with the children.

The great maestro, the orchestra leader of the mummies and road of rams celebrations, expressed his admiration for the establishment of the recreation center in the Hospital and its role in psychologically supporting the patients.

I am impressed to see world healthcare standards applied in an Egyptian hospital, I feel like I am in Europe. The important thing is that all what I see here is based on simplicity, fine taste and warmth, without lavishness or exaggeration, commented maestro Abbassi.

The worldwide maestro revealed that art and music therapy is a science with rules and is drawing much attention internationally through studies and workshops to prepare specialized caregivers trained on dealing with sick children. Studies proved that this domain is playing an important role in supporting patients’ response to medication and in giving them tools to express their feelings and ideas.

He affirmed his intention to start cooperation with the Hospital to support and apply this science in Egypt and to organize workshops to prepare specialists in this field.

“The patient is a human in the first place, needing psychological care as much as the physical one, especially children with cancer who suffer from the disease, chemotherapy complications, and being away from their normal routine for long periods of time”, revealed the Hospital’s general manager. Hospital 57357’s art workshop is a creativity center that was founded along the lines of the Hospital’s commitment to and support of creative thinking, he added.

According to Amany Ibrahim, head of the workshop, the goal is to engage children with fun activities that keep them for a time away from their ordeal . It gives them the chance to practice activities they like and discover their hobbies which enable them to better fight their illness and and overcome the disease.
