Within the framework of the fruitful cooperation between Hospital 57357 and Al-Ahram Canadian University for many years, the Hospital welcomed a delegation of students from the Faculty of Pharmacy on a visit to benefit from 57357’s leading experience in clinical pharmacy, and get to know the important role of the clinical pharmacist and the services he provides to offer quality care to patients through the optimal use of medications in terms of efficacy and safety.

The visit included a tour in the clinical pharmacy’s different sections, and a meeting with Dr. Sherif Kamal, head of the Hospital’s clinical pharmacy through which students were introduced to the importance of clinical pharmacy in hospital settings Dr. Kamal explained how clinical pharmacy is an integrated system to support healthcare, and depends on activating the pharmacist’s role and using his education and experiences within the healthcare setting. At the end of the visit students offered the children nice gifts and gave donations to the ongoing sadaka program to contribute to their treatment.

It is noteworthy that the cooperation between the Canadian University and Hospital 57357 has been there for many years during which the University management offered scholarships in different faculties for the Hospital patients who obtained their high school certificate, according to a cooperation protocol between the two sides. Moreover, the Hospital’s patients, who are physically capable, are invited to visit the University to share in entertainment and sports activities. Meanwhile periodic blood donation drives are held in the university in favor of 57357’s children. Besides organizing  art and crafts workshops for the Hospital’s patients, students of design and creative art faculty of the Canadian University shared in decorating the walls of the Hospital’s new departments to contribute to raising  patients’ morale. Also, numerous educational visits were organized for the university’s students from different faculties  to benefit from the hospital’s experience in the healthcare field. Hospital 57357 also offered nutrition and health awareness lectures at the university.
