According to Dr. Aya Deyab, one of the researchers, this bacteria is responsible for several human infections including urinary tract, respiratory tract, and bloodstream infections in addition to its resistance to most known antibiotics which makes it life threatening specially for our immunocompromised cancer patients.

This research, published in PLOS One journal (impact factor 3.24), contributes to improving patient outcome as it makes recommendations for the medical team to avoid antibiotics resisted by the bacteria as it will not be useful for the patient.
