The Hospital celebrated the end of the psychology department staff training on using conversational and behavioral treatment techniques with children who have completed their treatment period. The aim is to enable children to interact with the society and become effective and interactive members.

The training is offered by Alexandria’s Psychiatry Association in Hospital 57357’s premises. At the end of the training a celebration was held to hand out completion certificates, in attendance of Dr. Moataz Elzemeity, Hospital 57357’s Medical Director, Dr. Taghrid Alshafei, head of the psychology department  and Dr. Ahmed Abdelkreem, head of the Psychiatry Association of Alexandria.

We are happy to celebrate the end of training and the acquisition of 57357’s psychology department personnel of more skills to enable them to ideally treat children during and after the end of their treatment, as the psychological support is an important part for the treatment of children with cancer, said Dr. Alshafei.

The department offers medication and behavioral treatment, as well as psychological support for children since their admission to the Hospital. The treatment helps the child to accept his illness in addition to qualifying him for the period after the completion of his treatment, added Dr. Alshafei.

It is noteworthy that Hospital 57357 is concerned with providing specialists in dealing with children throughout their treatment period through the Hospital’s psychology department. The Hospital is also committed to offering its employees the required training to qualify them to deal with children during and after their treatment period to prepare them psychologically to integrate again in the society.
