Nutritional therapy department set up a nutrition clinic that caters to both adults and children external cancer patients starting May 2019, once a week on Wednesdays from 4pm till 6 pm. Cost of the clinic visit for external patients is L.E.450

Purpose of setting up the clinic:

• Improving nutritional condition of the patient and reducing side effects of the treatment: research studies reveal that following up on the nutritional condition of the patient as early as the confirmation of the diagnosis, providing adequate nutritional support will improve patient outcome and chances of cure and reduce side effects of treatment such as vomiting, diarrhea, and repeated inflammatory episodes.
• Also, studies indicate that malnutrition affects the patient’s health and illness condition and increases the chances of complications.
• Nutritional contribution to the treatment of cancer patient depends on the type of tumor, its location, the related treatment protocol and the evaluation of the nutritional condition of the patient, tailoring a nutritional plan for each individual patient.

The Nutritional therapy department set up a vitamin D clinic since April 2018, twice a week on Sundays and Wednesdays from 4pm to 6 pm; Cost of the visit is L.E.120.

The purpose of setting up the clinic:

To treat cases of Vitamin D deficiency as per analysis and tests and according to international guidelines for the prevention of calcium and phosphor deficiency to safeguard bone strength and density and to prevent osteoporosis and bone-softening disease in adults and children.
