- The Cytopathology Laboratory diagnoses malignant & premalignant lesions in all cytology samples including body fluids & fine needle aspirations.
- Preservation of material for several months (surepath vials) for ancillary testing (if needed).
- Availability of immunostaining and molecular tests on cytologic material.
- International standards in cytopathology interpretation & reporting.
- Collaborates with the Molecular Pathology Laboratory to achieve precise results.
- The Cytopathology Laboratory performs testing on specimens from virtually any body organs:
- Bronchoscopy/endoscopic brushing.
- Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).
- Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC), including thyroid, breast, etc.
- Nipple discharge.
- Cervicovaginal smears (by using Surepath vials).
