Emergency Internship
Internship Overview
Our service is a busy one and interns will have a wide range of clinical experiences during their observership in ER. It is a great opportunity for interns to enhance their clinical skills while learning about the opportunities and challenges facing specialists in pediatric emergency medicine.
At the beginning of the training, interns will have an introduction to general pediatrics, pediatric oncology, and Pediatric oncologic emergencies. Then, the interns will shadow the residents and consultants in assessing and examining the patients presenting to the ER. By the end of the observership, Interns will leave the rotation with a sound understanding of emergency medical care and greater confidence and competence when confronted with real-life emergencies
Objectives
By the end of this training participants will be able to:
- Identify pediatric oncologic emergencies.
- Recognize general warning signs of oncology emergencies.
- Evaluate acutely ill patients upon presentation.
- Gain knowledge about the field of pediatric oncology and different pediatric diagnosis.
