The English for the Nursing Profession course is a two-level course that aims to enhance the learners’ four language skills with further focus on spoken communication. The course presents the language learned in various contexts related to the nursing field. Learners practice the language through simulations and role plays. The course also prepares the learners for the medical terminology course by introducing many medical terms.

By the end of each level, the learners will be able to:

  • Learn and be able to use a wide range of vocabulary related to nursing in a variety of situations and functions.
  • Use proper English to write medical and work related documents.
  • Successfully read medical and work related documents.
  • Communicate successfully with physicians and other medical staff to relay information and report issues.
  • Communicate successfully with patients and visitors to relay information and report issues.

Nursing students or working nurses seeking career development.

  • Level 1: 30 hours.
  • Level 2: 30 hours.
  • Days: 2 sessions per week
  • Hours: 2 hours per session.
