Course Description
This course focuses on developing the nurse’s knowledge& skills about infection control used in hospital for dealing with patients.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course participants will be able to:-
- Differentiate between modes of infection transmission.
- Recognize and apply the 7 elements of standard precautions.
- Recognize and apply the 5 moments of hand hygiene.
- Recognize and implement bundles of care to prevent surgical site infection, ventilation associated pneumonia and catheter related blood stream infection.
- Deal with multidrug resistance organisms.
- Recognize specific procedures for each type of isolation (air born, droplet and contact).
