Overview
This course focuses on developing the nurse’s knowledge& skills about infection control used in hospital Infection control is the discipline concerned with preventing healthcare-associated infection. It is an essential part of the back-bone structure of any health care organization. Infection control addresses factors related to the spread of infections within the healthcare setting (whether patient-to-patient, from patients to staff and from staff to patients, or among-staff), including prevention (via hand hygiene/hand washing, cleaning/disinfection/sterilization, vaccination, surveillance), monitoring/investigation of demonstrated or suspected spread of infection within a particular health-care setting (surveillance and outbreak investigation), and management
Learning Objectives
By the conclusion of the program, the intern will achieve the following objectives:
• Understand the mission and vision of 57357.
• Comprehend the IPC (Infection Prevention and Control) Program.
• Apply Standard Precautions effectively.
• Demonstrate proper Hand Hygiene practices.
• Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately.
• Manage waste effectively according to established protocols.
• Implement Respiratory Hygiene and Cough Etiquette.
• Apply Isolation Precautions as needed.
• Differentiate between Hospital-Acquired Infections (HAIs) and Community-Acquired Infections.
• Familiarize oneself with the Cerner System.
• Conduct a Biological Assessment of the Environment.
• Utilize Auditing Tools proficiently.
• Apply On-Job Training Tools for continuous learning and improvement.

Target Audience
Undergraduates and fresh graduates from Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing and Medical Sciences.

In order to receive your certificate, you have to attend not less than 70%
