The purpose of this course is to familiarize ‎the audience with the concept of quality and the ‎process of quality improvement across the ‎Health Care continuum. This course focuses on the ‎history and evolution of quality, its terms, ‎principles, theories, and practices. The audience is ‎introduced to a diverse collection of methods ‎of improving quality, including but not limited to healthcare quality, planning/ accreditation/certification, document control, and ‎documentation, data management, incident report/ root cause analysis, quality improvement, international standards & guidelines six sigma and ‎other tools that are an integral component of ‎Process improvement and customer satisfaction.

By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand total quality concepts and techniques for managing, controlling, and improving ‎quality‎.
  • Improve nurses’ knowledge, skills, and practice of health care quality.  ‎
  • Explain the different meanings of the quality concept and its influence. ‎
  • Describe several techniques and quality management tools. ‎
  • Predict the errors in the measuring process, distinguishing their nature and the root causes. ‎
  • Understand regulations and phases of the quality system certification process.
