Quality Course for Nurses

Overview
The purpose of this course is to familiarize the audience with the concept of quality and the process of quality improvement across the Health Care continuum. This course focuses on the history and evolution of quality, its terms, principles, theories, and practices. The audience is introduced to a diverse collection of methods of improving quality, including but not limited to healthcare quality, planning/ accreditation/certification, document control, and documentation, data management, incident report/ root cause analysis, quality improvement, international standards & guidelines six sigma and other tools that are an integral component of Process improvement and customer satisfaction.
Course Objectives
By the end of this program, participants will be able to:
- Understand total quality concepts and techniques for managing, controlling, and improving quality.
- Improve nurses’ knowledge, skills, and practice of health care quality.
- Explain the different meanings of the quality concept and its influence.
- Describe several techniques and quality management tools.
- Predict the errors in the measuring process, distinguishing their nature and the root causes.
- Understand regulations and phases of the quality system certification process.
