Within the framework of cooperation between Hospital 57357 and the American University in Cairo, AUC, Hospital 57357 welcomed a delegation comprised of 15 students and professors from Utica University, New York, accompanied by representatives of AUC. The visit falls within the activities of AUC’s student exchange program. AUC’s dean of science and engineering faculty along with the head of general health studies and health policies management institute initiated and coordinated for the visit with the purpose of acquainting the delegation with 57357 as a center of excellence in providing quality care to children with cancer. The guests were welcomed by Dr. Ahmed Elsherbini, head of external relations in 57357.

The visit included a tour in the Hospital’s different sections namely the clinical pharmacy, outpatient clinics, kitchen, labs, the art therapy recreation center and the cyberknife unit. Members of the delegation were appreciative of the latest technology used in the Hospital and the psychological care provided to children.

Prof. Ashraf Elmarakbi, physiotherapy professor at Utica University expressed how proud he was of the Hospital, its equipment, its cleanliness and how humane and compassionate the medical team is with patients. “It is my first visit to the Hospital, this is an efficiently organized place and the technology used is stunning”, said Elmarakbi. “The thing that made me happy is the medical team’s permanent smile to children, added Prof. Elmarakbi.

The students were impressed by the high technology used in all departments, the digitization of the Hospital operation system and the psychological care offered to children over and above the high quality medical care. At the end of the visit, students expressed their happiness for meeting children during their tour in the Hospital, and they wished them a happy New Year.
