In 57357 Tanta, a workshop titled “the feast sheep”, to bring happiness to our children on the occasion of Al-Adha feast

Few days left before the advent of Al-Adha feast and already charitable kind hearted people are thinking of ways to bring joy to the children who will spend the feast in the hospital because of their illness.

The writer Amal Gamal, is one of our kind hearted supporters who is used to visiting our children in Tanta branch on a regular basis. Originally, from Almansoura city, she visits 57357 Tanta every month to hold a workshop where she tells stories and draws and colors with our children.

During a chat with her, she revealed that the up-coming month of October marks the one-year anniversary of “Grandfather Mohammed” workshop she set up as ongoing charity to honor the memory of her father.

“I so love the children that I wish to support them in any way I can” said Gamal. She explains: “Since the feast is only few days away, I named today’s workshop “the feast sheep”. To bring some happiness to children who will spend the feast away from their homes and friends, the workshop was dedicated to making and coloring a feast sheep. I feel glad when I see children happily drawing and coloring, and instantly forgetting their tiredness. Hakem Adel is a schoolchild in grade four who touched me the most. He was unable to join us in the playroom because of his condition, so I visited him in his room where I found him frightened and refusing to have a cannula inserted in his right arm. When I talked with him, he said that he does not want the cannula in his right hand because it would prevent him from using the crayons I gave him to draw and color. I was happy that we were able to divert him for a while from his sickness as he wanted to participate with us in coloring, but I convinced him to put the cannula and promised him to help him in this activity”.

“I would like to thank the Hospital staff who encouraged me to make children happy my way”, reveals the writer at the end of our chat.

Feast time is a happy time, thanks to kind people whose love and support contribute to alleviating our children’s suffering and helping them to pursue their treatment journey.
