With the participation of 57357’s children, Sinai youth and tourists: 57357’s charity marathon kicked off in Sharm Elsheikh in favor of the Hospital’s children


On Friday the activities of the annual marathon “run for charity” organized by the Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357  kicked off at the international sports development center in Sharm Elsheikh.

The marathon was held under the patronage of the ministries of youth and sports and culture, Major General Khaled Fouda, governor of South Sinai, who was keen to offer all means of support for Hospital 57357’s children. He revealed that as a touristic green city like Sharm Elsheikh is always welcoming marathons.

The marathon start signal was carried out by Major General Mahmoud Alsolea, mayor of Sharm Elsheikh and Dr. Sherif Abuel Naga, the Hospital’s general manager, in attendance of Major General Hussein Ragab, manager of the Olympic covered hall of Sharm Elsheikh, Mr. Mohammed Fathi, head of youth and sports sector of South Sinai, sheikh Omar Mustafa Younes, head of Al-Azhar central administration of Sharm Elsheikh, sheikh Abdul Monem Zakareya, head of Quran affairs of Sharm Elsheikh Azhar area, Dr. Asem Ghalab, general manager of Hospital 57357, Tanta branch and Mrs. Nevine Nagati, head of training and development and social service administration of Edita Company.

To pursue its support for the Hospital, BMW shared in the marathon with an environmental friendly electric car that has no polluting emissions.

Hundreds of Sharm Elsheikh youth along with tourists and boy scout teams shared in the marathon that was sponsored by a large group of sponsors such as: Edita Company as official sponsor, Credit Agricole Bank, Sun Rise, a group of owners of tourism and aviation companies, Sharm Elsheikh sports social club, South Sinai chamber of commerce, the Bavarian Company for cars, the British School, St. Josef School, Sharm International School, Sharm College School, Al-Azhar Institutes, Sharm Elsheikh Rotary Club, Garden City Innerwheel Club, hotel facilities chamber, South Sinai parish , South Sinai endowment authority, Al-Azhar central administration of South Sinai, Nestle Company, Abu Ali Restaurants, Fares Fish Restaurant, Almasreyeen Restaurants and Alhamad and Al-Ameer mall.

Friday speech and leading the prayers were done by Sheikh Omar Younes in the Olympic covered hall where he encouraged people to cooperate with charity events and praised the marathon as an initiative that gathers all community sectors around one goal that is cancer patients’ care.

For entertainment the Nile singing band produced entertainment shows with oriental flute and skirt dance.

At the end of the marathon prizes were handed to winners while the participating Hospital children received gifts from the Bavarian Company and the marathon official sponsor, Edita Company.
