Our ongoing research efforts are designed to answer the following research questions:
- How do brain tumors fulfill their bioenergetic needs? In other words, what are the prevailing metabolic pathways in each tumor at each stage? Can we exploit mitochondria and metabolic pathways to sensitize brain tumors for better therapeutic responses?
- What is the role of mitochondria in inflammatory response and cytokine storm following bone marrow transplantation?
- Screening drug candidates for metabolic interventions in liquid and solid tumors.
- How does the gut microbiota interact with mitochondria in leukemia patients receiving different treatment protocols?
