Soft services
- Housekeeping, which is considered the core of the Hospital operations and is closely connected to infection control and quality departments since these departments give instructions regarding the patient and the housekeeping staff are responsible to implement these instructions with the highest degree of accuracy through the steps of cleaning and sanitizing. If these steps were not strictly implemented patients may be exposed to infection, accordingly elongating their hospital stay, which increases cost of treatment and that of the running of the Hospital in general. Hence, the housekeeping personnel are selected with the highest degree of scrutiny, moreover they are offered continuous development training, whether they are new to the department or old, to keep them updated on latest methods of cleaning and sanitizing patients’ rooms.
- Sterilization material: the Hospital depends on high purity products that are recognized internationally, and are continuously monitored by the infection control department.
- Kitchen and nutritional services: it is carefully monitored by the clinical nutrition department, as it caters to inpatient hospitalized children and their family members, the outpatient department’s patients and the Hospital’s staff. Each of these sections has a specific nutritional diet, specially the inpatient section patients, for which nutrition plays a vital role in raising the efficiency of the immunity system, in addition to taking care of any other health problem the child may be suffering from. Depending on the instructions of the clinical nutrition department, headed by Dr. Golsen Saleh, patients’ food menu is specified. The kitchen’s mission also includes enabling the children to ask for their favorite food requests, with healthy ingredients that assist the treatment, as food is part of the treatment.
- The laundry: through which clothes of patients and their accompanying family member and medical team uniforms are washed and cleaned with the highest level of sanitization.
- The landscape: it is currently under construction with the best possible design, as landscape is not just gardens and green areas; it should be beautifully and harmoniously designed to have a positive effect on children’s psychological condition and consequently on their immunity system efficiency which would contribute to their quick recovery.
Studies and researches proved that the child heals faster if his room has a beautiful view. We don’t require any specific type of trees, we choose types of plants that reduce pollution, those which are not conducive to the spread of pests, that do not need big quantity of water and those with a mild odor, as cancer patient are very sensitive to strong scents.
Hard services
The hard services section includes all the kitchen and laundry equipment, water and electricity stations and electricity generating units, as power cuts is not allowed in the Hospital for their hazardous effect on equipment and water maintenance station, since water passes through multiple purification stages. This also includes AC maintenance and preserving the best level of ventilation.
