Genomics and Epigenomics Research Program

Education and Training

ProteoGenomics

  • Aim: Providing a detailed understanding of the fundamental principles of molecular biology, tissue culture and to attain an appreciation of how biology works at its most basic gene and protein levels, as well as an understanding of gene manipulation techniques based on the premise that genetic information, from genes to proteins, is a resource that can be manipulated in various ways to achieve certain goals in both pure, applied science and medicine.

  • Target Audience: This course is suitable for graduates, Masters or even PhD students who are interested in incorporating genetics into their current field of study.

  • Duration: 1 week

  • Registration.

High-throughput hand-on: Next Generation Sequencing

  • Aim: The course provides an introduction to Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). The goal of this course is to teach the fundamentals of NGS library preparation and validation and to address how to interpret the data and how the analysis is applied in Genomics. Students will walk through a full sequencing experience from the very start of isolating the DNA from blood samples, to sequencing and getting to real raw data output.

  • Target Audience: This course is suitable for graduates, Masters or even PhD students who are interested in incorporating genetics into their current field of study.

  • Duration: 1 week

Short Internship: Genetics and Molecular Biology

  • Aim: This short one-month course is aimed at students who are trying to familiarize themselves with genetic and molecular biology techniques to get a glance at real life lab work taking place. The course is a combination of taught and hands-on rotations. It aims to give students a flavor into genomics research by teaching them fundamental techniques that can benefit them in future studies.

  • Target Audience: This course is suitable for graduates, Masters or even PhD students who are interested in incorporating genetics into their current field of study.

  • Duration: 10 days

Note that revenue from all courses is used as donations towards 57357 Hospital.
