Overview

Childhood cancer is not just a burden for a sick child; it constitutes a family crisis and has a considerable impact not just on the patient but also on all of his surroundings. This fact is the first thing we learn and assume at our Pediatric Hematology & Oncology department.

Our Department is considered one of the top rated in our region, serving between 400 and 500 patients at the one-day treatment unit daily, 320 patients at the inpatient department, approximately 3000 new patients per year, thus it is considered the biggest in the Middle East region.

A collaborative network of pediatric specialists is available in collaboration with other specialties, which gives the hospital the lead, especially in malignancies that require multispecialty care for their management, e.g., oncological surgeries, Orthopedics, neuro-oncology, and ocular oncology.

The CCHE-57357 pediatric oncology department provides diagnosis and treatment of all types of pediatric malignancies, including:

  • Hematological malignancies:
    • Leukemias (acute & chronic)
    • Non-Hodgkin lymphoma
    • Hodgkin’s Disease
    • Myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative disorders

    • Neuroblastoma
    • Soft tissue sarcomas (rhabdomyosarcoma & Non rhabdomyosarcoma)
