Do's and Don'ts

DO's

  • Fill out the online request form and discuss your question before sending samples.
  • Contact the Facility at any time to discuss sample preparation / processing / shipping.
  • Provide us with as much information about your sample / protein as you can.
  • Wear gloves at all times during sample handling.
  • Acknowledge the Facility in your publications (please), if analyses / services have contributed to your work.
  • Always bring your sample in a sealed icebox with plenty of ice and cooled condition.
  • Do wear “powder-free nitrile gloves”.
  • Make sure that sample submitted for analysis is free of reagents incompatible with mass spectrometer, e.g. SDS, Triton X, DMSO, and high glycerol concentrations.

DON'TS

  • DON'T ship samples over the weekend or without prior notice.
  • DON'T use detergents for MS experiments of intact proteins.
  • DON'T use >5% glycerol for MS experiments of intact proteins.
