About the Program

This interactive, practice-based program will teach healthcare professionals and students the fundamentals of pharmacogenomics and how to use this information to improve patient care through addressing competencies outlined by the Genetics and Genomics Competency Center (G2C2) and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).The course duration is 5-days.Topics covered include: Fundamentals of Pharmacogenomics; Advanced Concepts in Pharmacogenomics; Pharmacogenomic Laboratory Methods; Genetics and Clinical Pharmacology; Genotyping Tests and Interpretation; Pharmacogenomic Evidence, Study Designs, and Guidelines; Case-based scenarios of clinically-actionable pharmacogenomic examples in the areas of Cardiology, Drug Hypersensitivity Reactions, Psychiatry and Neurology, Pain Management, specific drugs (Voriconazole, Ondansetron, Tacrolimus) and oncology.
