The board of trustees headed by Prof. Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, discussed in its emergency session dated Thursday 29-12-2022 the following:

  1. Stressing on 57357’s constants namely the provision of top quality and free of charge care to children with cancer, sticking to education and research being the Hospital’s sustainability tools since its inception in 2007 and throughout 15 years of operation.
  2. The board discussed the extent of the current temporary financial crisis, and followed up on the actions taken to sustain the provision of free treatment with the same quality. The board affirmed that the reasons behind the current crisis are directly related to the chain of misfortunes since 2020 and their consequences.
  3. The board praised the statement of the president of Egypt Cancer Network, ECN USA in his report provided to the board regarding ECN’s role and USA donors’ positive response towards 57357 during its present challenges and the full support by ECN, which works under the supervision of the American legal authorities. Within the same context the board praised the statement of the president of ECN Canada, which was identical to that of ECN USA’s president
  4. The board stressed on the follow up and implementation of the financial sustainability program to ensure a flow of funds required for 57357’s stability
  5. The board listened to the remarks and questions of judicial advisor Adly Hussein, who joined the board of trustees lately upon its new formation, notarized in accordance with the provisions of the law, and approved by the Ministry of Solidarity. The president of the board replied to the remarks according to the provisions of the law and to the executive regulations, however judicial advisor Hussein ended his remarks by requesting the freezing of his membership as of today, in objection to the formation of the board
  6.  The board of trustees affirmed, in its statement issued today, its trust in and its praising of its executive management represented by the Hospital’s management as to the actions and procedures it undertakes, which are approved by the board of trustees, and bearing the responsibility to overcome the current crisis that the Hospital is going through.
  7. The board of trustees is expressing gratitude, respect and appreciation to all sectors of the Egyptian Society for this unprecedented support , and to everyone who supports 57357’s mission inside and outside Egypt
  8. The board decided to entrust Prof. Dr. Sherif Abdel Aal, the member of the board of trustees as official speaker for the board and responsible for releasing its official decisions.
