Kareem, 12 years old and Omar, 9years old, from Alsharkeya, are two brothers who are bravely fighting cancer in 57357. They have dreams for the future, as Kareem wishes to become a famous football player, and Omar wishes to become a doctor. Hospital 57357 turned into being their second home, where they play and draw with their patient friends in 57357’s art therapy recreation center. They pursue their treatment courageously, and they have plans to go out with friends in the feast.

“We thank God for 57357’s doctors who gave us hope in the future and reassured us”, shares the mother of the 2 boys. They exert utmost efforts to make children comfortable. The sickness of my two sons is so exhausting psychologically, but God sent us people who advised us to go to 57357. Kareem got sick first, and was admitted to the Hospital in the beginning of 2018. He was diagnosed with bone cancer in the knee joint. He had chemotherapy where he responded well to the treatment and the tumor shrank. He had a surgery to remove the tumor and fix an artificial joint. He completed his treatment and started a three year follow up stage. After the third year, they discovered a disease recurrence in his right lung. He had a surgery and removed half of the right lung, followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Currently he is in follow up stage. Thanks be to God, the Hospital’s care team were able to miraculously save my children from despair as they provided excellent psychological care that helped them forget about their sickness and have future dreams like any healthy children. Kareem is an artist, he likes drawing, and has paintings hanging in the art workshop. He also likes to play football”.

As for Omar, we discovered his sickness in August 2019. He was admitted to the Hospital with his brother where he was diagnosed with lymphoma. He had chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and started the follow up stage in December 2021. Omar is different than Kareem, he is quite, likes to fast in Ramadan and he prays to God to grant him and his brother recovery.

Thanks to 57357’s donors, Kareem and Omar are fighting their illness, and will spend the feast with their family and friends.

Our wishes for a happy feast to Kareem, Omar, all our sick children and our charity partners.
