On Tuesday, December 19th, a delegation from the National University in Burg El Arab visited the Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357. The delegation was headed by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Morsi Elgohary, the university president, along with Prof. Dr. Abeer Qasem, vice president of the University, and attended by Prof. Dr. Rania Elsharkawi, dean of health Science Technology Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Elfaham, dean of Industrial and Energy Technology Faculty, Prof. Dr. Rasha Yaqout, vice dean of Health Sciences Technology Faculty, and a number of Faculty members and students.

The University’s delegation was welcomed by Dr. Sherif Abuel Naga, 57357 Group CEO and the Hospital’s General Manager, who joined them in a tour of the Hospital different sections, and discussed cooperation opportunities between the two parties. During the tour, the delegation saw the latest equipment and services provided to children with cancer.

Dr. Elgohary, the University’s president, stated that, this protocol is considered an important step in boosting cooperation between the University and specialized medical institutions, and that, the University wishes to offer practical training opportunities to its students in the different fields, in order to enable them to acquire the necessary skills required for the job market. Dr. Abuel Naga expressed his gladness for collaborating with the University, and asserted that the Hospital pursues to partner with different educational institutions, aiming to offer high quality services to patients.

This protocol embodies a strategic goal which is to combine the two pillars of learning being theory and practical training, to offer students the chance to come in contact with the healthcare institutional work system, its technology and outstanding performance philosophy, revealed Dr. Qasem, the protocol coordinator.

At the end of the visit, Prof. Dr. Elgohary, the university president and Dr. Abuel Naga signed the cooperation protocol between the University and the Hospital aiming to train the University’s students in the areas of health care , informatics,  and cancer disease to prepare qualified graduates to lead change in these fields.

It is noteworthy that the cooperation protocol aims also to offer practical training opportunities to University students, in the field of research, aiming to develop treatment methods, improve the quality of care offered to patients, and to spread health awareness in the society through organizing awareness seminars and workshops.
