Micro-surgery in the brain saved my daughter Fatema

The Hospital garden makes Fatema happy

The thing that delights my daughter the most is the Hospital’s garden, and riding a bike amid greenery and flowers. When comes the time of the treatment session , we tell her, let’s go to the garden. After she takes her shots and treatment she goes to the garden to play with children and forgets all the pains. Ragab, Fatema’s father shared: “Fatema is 5 years old, she was a normal child, going to the nursery and playing with her friends. Two months ago, she started complaining from a headache and blurred vision. We thought she had a cold and treated her accordingly, but she got worse with continuous vomiting.

A private doctor in Zakazik requested an MRI on the brain which revealed that she had a tumor and needed a micro-surgery. It was a shock for us, as we knew nothing about this disease except that its dangerous and may cause death. But the doctor reassured us and advised us to go to 57357 and said they have great capabilities, and they achieved great success in brain surgeries. We felt that there was hope from day one since we observed that they operate under strict regulations, cleanliness and are all very cooperative.

Fatema had surgery and thanks be to God, it went well. We knew that the treatment journey was long and that she would need 33 radiotherapy sessions. This was a problem for us. How can we come daily from Alsharkeya, specially that the session was scheduled at 9 am.

The Hospital solved the problem, and directed us to a nearby guest house. It hosted my daughter and her mother, with meals too. They saved us effort and cost of daily traveling.

Thanks be to God, Fatema’s condition improved: headaches and vomiting disappeared, and she started to play again with her brothers and neighbors. Every time I see her laughing again, I pray for each and every one who works in this place, and for the donors who donated to cover the cost of my daughter’s treatment.
